Welcome to the best of the week, where I highlight articles that I found on the web geared towards simplifying our daily lives. So make yourself a warm cup of coffee or tea and enjoy.

“In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple. ‘Work hard. Don’t quit. Be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful. Also, never whine, never complain. And always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor.'” – Michael Keaton
I need this on a sign. ASAP.

The Best Low-Maintenance, Pet-Friendly House Plants
Spring is slow to come here in the midwest. And I’ve been dreaming of green, lush horizons. Since Mother Nature insists on blanketing the ground in white snow, I think I’ll take matters into my own hands and go and get a few plants. I’ve been planning to do this for a while anyways. Since I have 2 very curious cats, and I dislike anything high maintenance, I went on the hunt for some information about pet friendly plants that wouldn’t require a lot of care. I found what I was seeking at Lifehacker. I am most partial to tall, tree-like plants. Their list has me considering an Areca palm or a bamboo palm.
Simple Eat
I have made these quite a few times and they are delicious. I do add a little shredded cheddar to the recipe because I like the consistency and flavor that it adds. They’re simple and the kids really like them, so win-win. They’re great on their own or with spaghetti and sauce.

Thoughts on: “Minimalism is not Perfection”
I do not have a white-walled house. I have multiple pets. My house gets messy. I am a minimalist. Minimalism is about creating a lifestyle that brings you the most value and happiness. I love my (mostly) grey walls. I love all of our pets. Messes can be cleaned up quickly. Minimalism isn’t about perfection, it’s about prioritizing the things that make your life better.
